Accessibility
People who get targeted by phone scams include people who are older, stressed, or reading in a second language. Scout is designed for them first.
Heard and seen
Every warning is spoken to you and shown on screen, in the same words.
English and Spanish
The app, spoken warnings, transcription, scam analysis, the helper page, and this website all work in both languages.
Large text, VoiceOver, big buttons
The iPhone app supports Dynamic Type, VoiceOver, and large controls.
Plain, kind words
Warnings explain what happened (“This matches a common scam”) instead of blaming you.
Keypad option
If you prefer, or the app can't ring, Scout can use your regular phone line: press star for options, 1 to reconnect safely.
Helpers who can step in
A trusted person can get an alert call and a simple, large-text page on their phone.
This website
We aim for WCAG 2.2 AA: readable contrast, full keyboard use, clear headings and labels for screen readers, layouts that work on small phones and with zoom, and light and dark mode. If something doesn't work for you, please tell Sound Credit Union.
